You may choose standard DDR4 RAM without ECC or ECC-enabled versions. ECC is generally not required. RAM with ECC tends to have slower access times and isn't found at very high speeds. The ECC section is only used if the motherboard supports it and activates it. Many popular boards from companies like Gigabyte and MSI offer strong ECC support.

I should have been more detailed. It doesn't work on many budget and mid-range boards that aren't non-AM4. My B550 model won't handle ECC at all.
