I destroyed my R7 1700 and bought an R5 3600. I’m wondering if I need to reinstall the chipset driver once I get the system up and running. I already have the newest version for Crosshair 7 Hero, and the BIOS is up to date too.

You don't need to worry. Just confirm your BIOS has the 3600 support, and that's all.

The chipset drivers apply to the motherboard's chipset, not the CPU directly. As long as your motherboard remains intact, updated drivers aren't required.
