My Z270E board seems to be failing, so I'm using it with an i7-7700K processor. I'm considering either getting a used Z270E or upgrading everything, which would require replacing my CPU. I'm leaning toward the new setup since these components are nearly four years old and I'd like some advice from others. My current setup includes an i7-7700k, an Asus RTX 2060 OC, and 16GB Corsair Vengeance RAM.

I recommend selling the 7700K to acquire a fresh platform. You might receive a substantial amount of money from this transaction.

I noticed on eBay that the 7700k is being listed for about £270 in used condition. Now it seems people are thinking about upgrading options.

Suggest a 3600 or 3700X with a B450 MAX or B550 board. Slower memory is acceptable, particularly when overclocking—speed and latency are unknown at this point.
