I left my computer to update overnight and discovered it wouldn’t power on in the morning. When I pressed the power button, it briefly turned on before shutting off. I checked all connections and noticed coolant residue on the GPU. Examining the cooler revealed a leak. I removed the GPU and attempted to start it, but it still powered off immediately. The motherboard is receiving power, but I’m seeking advice on the real issue. If I replace the GPU, cooler, and power supply, would it work or does the motherboard seem to be the problem? Just looking for opinions.
Disconnect all devices and allow them to air dry for a minimum of three days. Avoid powering on any wet parts, as they must fully dry before reuse.
Please wait until it has fully dried—ideally for a week—and turn the pieces daily.
You might be lucky and there's some sort of protection mechanism against shorting your whole system but if you tried turning it on multiple times after it was wet nobody knows what damage could have happened. Don't do it again, let it dry as others have said and cross your fingers. Might still work. What were you thinking when you found out the the cooler had leaked and you still tried to turn it on? Wasn't that a red flag? Sorry to sound harsh but that does seem kind of stupid.
