Check if the motherboard, CPU, or RAM needs an upgrade.
Hello everyone! Yesterday all my upgrades arrived at my place. The Ryzen 7600 Gigabyte motherboard (B650) and Corsair RAM are ready. Right now, when I attempt to connect the CPU and RAM to the PSU, it keeps clicking without any response. Without the CPU, nothing happens—maybe that’s normal. Can anyone suggest a way to determine if the issue lies with the motherboard or the CPU? Any other suggestions would be appreciated. In fact, I’ve taken everything apart and am now using my old PC (same PSU) for testing later today to see if reassembling helps.
It would be useful to identify the specific motherboard and RAM model. I understand it makes sense that the device didn't function without the CPU. The most effective approach is to examine Debug indicators, audio output, or error codes based on your motherboard type. Reassembling it could likely resolve the issue. Before starting: ensure the CPU socket is clean of dust, and verify the pads aren’t obstructed by debris. Listen for half clicks during RAM installation, which may indicate proper alignment.
The motherboard is a B650 Aorus Elite AX V2. There are indicators present, though they aren't activating. The CPU fan isn't turning on either. I'll try reassembling it shortly.
The component is a "Vengeance DDR5 for AMD" model CMK32GX5M2B6000Z30.
I attempted to begin the PSU and it produced the same clicking sound I captured earlier. No bent pins were visible, and the CPU casing appeared intact. After re-disassembling and reassembling the system, I’m still working through the recording. PSU Recording.wav
Everything seemed set up properly (CPU cooler connected to the CPU_FAN header, both CPU power connectors secured, motherboard power active, GPU fully installed). I’m not sure what else to suggest except to return the motherboard, CPU, and RAM for a replacement.
It seems like you're unsure about other possible causes. If I were to estimate, the motherboard might be the main issue.
