I have a modem/router named Technicolor. On the box it shows the model Technicolor CGA4233TLV2. Recently, when I woke up, my Wi-Fi didn’t work and the device had no lights at all—normally there are many green indicators. I unplugged it from the UPS for a short time and then reconnected it. Still, there were no lights. Does this suggest the device is faulty? Could it be related to my internet connection? Yet if my internet is down, shouldn’t there be some flashing lights indicating an outage? However, one of my neighbors uses the same internet provider and their Wi-Fi appears on the network, so that doesn’t confirm the issue. So it seems this must be one of these: 1) The modem/router itself is bad, 2) My internet wiring is damaged, or 3) There’s a problem inside the apartment’s wiring. Previously, when my internet didn’t work with an older model, it did show flashing lights; the technician said it was due to external wiring and replaced it. This wasn’t the case here either, as this device doesn’t power on at all. I’ve had several times the technician mention issues with the outside wiring being cut or needing replacement. 3) Could there be a problem with the internal internet wiring? Anyone know how to reset this modem/router? Any other suggestions would be appreciated. At the moment, the connections I have are: power cable, wiring cable, and the phone line wire—any idea what to do next?

When there are no lights at all, it isn't the internet issue—it's about the device itself. There should be a power indicator light. Make sure whatever you're using is connected to a functioning outlet. You might try pressing the reset button (check the 30-30-30 router reset guidelines), though it may not help if nothing is active.

It's probable the power block deteriorated. This component connects to the wall prior to the router.

Did you connect it straight to a power outlet instead of using the UPS, to ensure the UPS isn't the issue?

Well when there is a power outage, there are usually no lights at all after a while. There has been rain but there was no issue with it last night but just noticed this earlier today. How do I reset this modem/router? I posted the model that I have. I also don't want to reset it because that would mean I have to set up the wifi password again right? If it is that power block, I still have to contact the ISP for them to send a technician over right? Previously whenever my internet didn't work, the technician came and every time I recall, it had to do the outside wiring. This was with my older arris modem though. Last time that technician gave me this new technicolor modem/router. Again there are no lights showing at all.

You have additional devices such as monitors linked to the UPS, and everything works fine. If changing sockets on the UPS doesn't restore power, the problem likely lies with the modem/router or the power block itself.

During an outage, no electricity will flow, but when it resumes, power should return. Make sure the connected outlet is receiving power before checking further.

Connect it to a different outlet to see if it functions. It might be a faulty outlet on the UPS. If it doesn’t work, proceed. A bad transformer is a possibility, but the modem seems more likely. If you have another transformer with matching voltage, tip setup, and higher amperage/wattage, test it. You’ll probably need someone to handle it, or consider purchasing your own instead of relying on the rental service.

I linked the modem/router to an older surge protector, and it powers up. I see that none of the six battery+surge ports on my UPS are functioning, while the six surge ports on my UPS do work. Is this issue related to the UPS battery+surge outlets?

The issue seems to be either a dead battery or a faulty connection on that side. I should also mention this was the initial point I made when I first replied to your request. Doing it promptly would have saved everyone a great deal of time.
