Check if the M.2 slot has a protective cover.
Do you know if an M.2 slot guard exists? You own the Z790 Carbon WiFi and removed the guard, revealing three M.2 ports, but you’re only using two. The issue is that one port has a special heatsink, making it hard to reinstall.
Empty M.2 slots don't require covering. They work adequately on their own.
It seems there might be an issue. Could you clarify what you mean by "just doesn't look right"?
You can find various M.2 3D printed replicas available for purchase or DIY printing. Additionally, there are RGB dummy M.2 devices that look similar. https://v-color.net/products/rgb-m-2-filler-dummy
Not necessarily. The availability of 3D printers varies depending on location, budget, and access to technology.
Everyone? Not many? Actually, they're getting pretty cheap and either like using them or think making low-quality prints is okay. Check out Etsy and you'll see around 35 stores selling generic 3D printed toys in just the first 15 minutes.
You have four M.2 storage options? (I'm reaching out since there are five slots available) Maybe you can skip the heatsink from the drives. Edited October 25, 2025 by leclod
You're asking for clarification, but I'm not sure what you mean by "I don't understand what you write." Could you please rephrase or provide more details?
