I understand there are no reviews yet, but I saw on Reddit discussions suggesting overclocking is risky in the 7nm process due to degradation concerns. Since I've only ever overclocked Intel chips, I have limited knowledge about AMD's approach. Are AMD processors somewhat prone to self-overclocking like the people on AMD Reddit are warning? Should I be cautious when adjusting voltages, and if I shouldn't overclock, should I still use an AIO cooler? Would lower temperatures help the CPU recover more quickly? Also, I'm curious about the idea of the CPU running above its normal turbo frequency and lasting 2 to 5 years.

It can achieve 5ghz with boost even without overclocking, and you can push it to higher speeds.

Zen 2 would clock higher as temps lowered. So extra cooling should increase performance, no reason to expect zen 3 gets worse here. Gamers Nexus test of Zen 2 showed this continued into subzero. So even exotic cooling keeps raising performance without overclocking. Question if manual overclocking is worth trouble will have to wait for release/better reviews, I personally plan 360 rad aio with 5950x and seeing what clocks I get stock.

The maximum boost frequency is actually 4.9GHz. I wouldn't bother tweaking it since this chip won't last even at that speed when all cores are running. Still, it will generate a lot of heat. Therefore, an AI cooling solution remains useful if you want your PC to stay quiet.
