Hi! I purchased a new laptop on last Friday—a Asus G731GW with an i7 9750H from Amazon. I also bought Corsair Vengeance Performance 32GB (2X16) DDR4 2666Mhz RAM to boost performance. Unfortunately, both items haven’t arrived yet because of shipping issues in Argentina. I double-checked compatibility and found that Crucial RAM is listed as fully compatible, but I’m unsure if the Corsair kit works with this model. Should I wait for it to ship or consider returning it before it leaves the USA? Thanks!

It seems like you're suggesting the speed is probably correct, just a slight underestimation.

You wanted to match the original RAM speed of the laptop, right?

I believed they utilize 2933 now.

I also felt it was a bit slow compared to the desktop version, but that’s what it is probably for compatibility reasons. After chatting with ASUS, a representative mentioned the RAM isn’t compatible. She suggested only Crucial, Samsung, Toshiba, or Kingston would work. I’m not sure if they really want me to buy those brands just to be safe, or if Corsair won’t fit at all. I think I should return it and get a Crucial instead.

They likely didn’t check the Corsair details—if it’s on the way, try it out first before sending it back. I’d guess it should work.

Probably shipping involves many steps, with the laptop and RAM purchased separately on Amazon and delivered to a Miami warehouse before being sent by courier. The RAM is already in Miami, but the laptop is expected on the 23rd. It might be wise to request a replacement RAM or a Crucial model to reduce risk. Regarding performance, there could be differences between Corsair Vengeance and Crucial RAM models.

They both support Samsung and Micron NAND. Corsair RAM is slightly larger due to a bigger heat spreader compared to Crucial. If you're willing to return it, go for it.

I understand, I wasn't sure I'd lose any performance there. I'll reach out tomorrow morning, good luck! Thanks a lot for your support.

Just to follow up Everything went fine (so far), i asked for the Corsair ram to be returned and i'm awaiting refund, then i'll buy the Crucial kit, which is guaranteed to be compatible, i did loose a couple of bucks for the shipping but since the Crucial ram is cheaper (about $15), i broke even Thank you for the help!
