Hi, I set up a standard PC for basic tasks only—browsing and office work. During lockdown, I ordered 8GB of RAM from a trusted online seller in my country. The machine started lagging when many tabs were open. On the invoice, there’s no serial number listed. Even if I reach out now, it’s unclear if this RAM was purchased from them. The sticker says it looks genuine. What should I do? Since my city doesn’t have a Vengeance service center, if it arrives by mail, will they accept it back if it isn’t real?
Nope this is real Corsair Vengeance LPX 2400mhz 8gb ram CMK8GX41A2400C16 its just very slow and even more so because you only run a single stick (single channel) vs 2 sticks (dual channel) Also you only see 1200mhz, because DDR = Double data rate: 1200mhz X2 = 2400mhz Nevermind this isn't true.. In this case. Check bios if set to 2400mhz. What CPU and motherboard are you using?
Is XMP activated correctly? It should display 2400Mhz in the memory section of Task Manager.
It’s showing the same info for everyone because it’s using a standard setting. The number you see is just the base speed, and it’s set to double the data rate. The processor is a Ryzen 1600 and the motherboard is an ASUS B350 Prime. That’s why it looks like this.
On the ASUS B350 Prime, the correct setting is DOCP. Intel supports XMP, and you'll find the appropriate options in the BIOS under the OC section.
Some systems display performance at half the standard DDR rate. Consult the BIOS settings. Verify if DOCP is active; if so, turn it off and adjust manually to: memory frequency 2400mhz. Configure clock timings as 16-16-16-16-39, use a 1T drive, and set DRAM voltage to 1.2V.

Select the D.O.C.P. profile only, as suggested by @DoctorNick. Use default or auto values for other options. RAM might not display the serial number due to an issue; if it can't run at 2400MT/s, the hardware may be faulty.
