In my desktop I have several components installed:
- Aorus 1080 Ti overclocked to 1950 MHz (it isn't stable beyond that)
- 6600k Overclocked to 4.8 GHz at 1.4V
- NZXT Kraken X62
- G.Skill Trident 32 GB @3000 Mhz
- MSI Z170A Gaming Pro Carbon Mobo
- 3 Be Quiet Silent Wings 3 case Fans
- 1 SSD & 1 Firecuda 2TB drive
All these are driven by Corsair CX 600M. The system works most of the time, though it froze during Company of Heroes 2 recently, while other games like Overwatch and Ghost Recon seem to run smoothly.
I’m curious if my power supply can handle more overclocking on the GPU with a larger PSU? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
At a minimum, think about the Corsair CX650M (the improved version of the old CX600M green label, which is now discontinued because of low quality, such as 30C rated operating temperature only and a 3-year warranty, etc.).
Personally, I would prefer to opt for higher-quality power supplies like the Seasonic G-650, the EVGA SuperNova G2 650, or the Corsair RM650x, especially for the purpose you mentioned.

At least think about the Corsair CX650M, which is an improved and superior version of the old CX600M green label, now discontinued because of its low quality—such as only supporting 30C rated operation and offering a 3-year warranty. Personally, I’d prefer better PSUs like the Seasonic G-650, EVGA SuperNova G2 650, or Corsair RM650x for your needs.
