It seems there might be some confusion. An AM4 processor typically does not include a quad memory controller; it usually relies on standard DDR memory modules.

I believe there isn't a Trx40 or X399 Threadripper mini ITX board, though an ASRock mini ITX X299 model exists.

You need triple channel for better performance, but am4 and threadripper don’t support it either.

The setup is confirmed. My new dream MOBO includes these details: trx4 10G Ethernet, WiFi, tons of USB, three TB3 drives, and a big RGB display.

Quad wouldn't work on an I/O board and triple performs better than double. It would use three memory paths from a chip with four channels.

Depends a lot on the CPU design and capabilities. Quad-channel boards exist, and AMD offers dual and quad channels too. Intel seems to be the only one with this feature currently. As for TRX4, it’s unclear what you plan to use it for—gaming isn’t really its intended purpose. If you’re not targeting that space, it might not be the best fit.

I believed any quad channel board could handle triple operation simply because three or four channels were active. The AM4 version was my initial choice, though a previous comment clarified it was limited to dual channels.

You seem really concentrated on memory channels, but that's not very useful when you're already using dual channel.
