I didn't intend to offend you, just wanted to share the facts. I own a Skylake and have done a lot of overclocking and reading about it. I can't guarantee it will last or not, but likely it will. Your risk of overvolting the CPU is causing degradation. Oh, sorry that came across wrong. You weren't offended. I meant it literally—like lowering it to 4.6 and setting it to auto. Would that be okay? I don’t plan to keep it forever. It feels cooler by about 10 degrees under load.
