your fps in apex legends is 70 with a 1060 ti on medium settings. you upgraded to an amd ryzen 3200g with radeon vega 8 graphics for better performance. i heard ryzen processors are good for gaming, but the fps didn’t increase as expected. i thought adding another graphics card would help, but it didn’t. someone please verify this and let me know what to do next. i’m confused. thank you.

Ensure both graphics cards are identical models. Also, check the CPU specifications—there might be a performance limitation from the processor.

Actually, the system doesn't handle multiple games at once.

Typically, games rely on one graphics card. A few titles support SLI or Crossfire setups using multiple GPUs, but only when both are identical. In such scenarios, the Vega chip in your CPU remains unused. If possible, bring back the 2200G and upgrade to a Ryzen 1600 "AF" model (SKU ending in AF) for significantly improved performance. For better frame rates, swap out your graphics card for a more powerful one.

It's too late to send back the CPU, though I appreciate it.

Have you experimented with overclocking? You might notice a slight boost with the built-in cooler and a few extra frames per second. In general, it’s a decent CPU for its price, though it’s constrained by just 4 cores and 4 threads.

The main advantage of Ryzen is its upgrade capability, offering a broad range of options for many users. Keeping the system updated and adding a Ryzen 3600 becomes more accessible at lower prices or through second-hand markets.
