Hi, my computer has been acting up lately when launching. I can get into the BIOS just fine, but then I land on the BIOS flash screen and the Windows loading window, where I have to wait around five minutes. So far I've tried the Windows Startup Recovery or repair option—I don't know the exact name in English. I have a brand new NVMe SSD and another that's a few years old, and my PC is still decent but the motherboard is quite old (B450, around 5-6 years). Windows specs: I'm using Windows 11 Home version 24H2, installed on June 23, 2025. I've used the Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000 and the build number 26100.4652. Thanks in advance!
Begin with the startup process. Verify the price using "hdd sentinel" – it appears affordable with a free trial, which should work without registration. Share your findings.
Next, examine the task manager on the performance section to identify any resource overloads.
Finally, check temperatures via your monitor or HW monitor. If overheating is detected, clean the dust and reapply the CPU paste.
Both drives are functioning well. During idle or startup, nothing exceeds maximum usage—RAM usage tops out at 21%, which remains stable. I believe this is due to reserved capacity. Also, I plan to disable any startup applications.
Current idle temperature is 45°C with a Ryzen 5 5800X3D, so that doesn’t seem to be the issue.
Is your boot drive a Samsung 980? If yes, it seems to be wearing out a bit, as indicated by the percentage of 77%. This doesn't necessarily mean it's broken, but it could be contributing to slower performance. It might have corrupted Windows, and based on my experience, attempting to repair it often fails—so a fresh installation might be the best solution.
