It isn't just a mistake. I have to go to the view menu and select "show hidden devices" to see my GPU in the GPU tab. When I right-click its properties, the device status shows it's not connected to the computer (code 45), even though it's plugged in. The device manager doesn't list any unrecognized devices, which contradicts what I've seen elsewhere about my GPU not being detected.
When encountering error 45, begin by checking if the issue stems from drivers. Obtain DDU and manually install the latest graphics card drivers. Refer to the links provided for previous versions and the new release on the 7th of this month. After updating, restart your system in safe mode without any network connection. Use DDU to clear all AMD drivers and then restart again. Finally, apply the 23.2.1 driver to verify the graphics card appears.
I have a 460 and I’m confident you didn’t attach the correct driver link (just to be safe). Even so, I tried downloading my GPU drivers from this page yesterday, assuming there was an issue, and after finishing the 600MB install of AMD software, I opened it and got an error: "Error 173 - AMD Software install cannot proceed as no AMD graphics hardware has been detected in your system." I’m just checking if I should continue with the process this time and consider using DDU to remove them first.
I linked to the incorrect page, but the drivers work with more than just the RX 480. I'm hoping it's corrupted or similar, not a faulty device. If using DDU caused error 173 during reinstall and you didn't use it, I'd still attempt a DDU run. It seems the hardware appears dead, but we've checked all possible fixes.
I'm concerned about this too. If the issue persists after I try this, Radium_angel in the thread suggests it could be my PSU's age affecting power delivery, not just my GPU. With what I have, can I confirm the GPU is the problem or if the PSU is the real cause?
The card will draw all its power from the PCIe slot. This could complicate troubleshooting. Are there any lights or fans operating on the card?
