Check for possible reasons behind the screen issues on your Lenovo Thinkbook.
Hey everyone! I’m dealing with some strange issues on my new Lenovo ThinkBook. Every now and then—less than ten times in three weeks—I notice the screen becomes unstable. The images/videos below illustrate this. You’ll see parts of the picture repeat or become distorted; the video captures these moments instantly. Sometimes sections shift slightly to the right, as if flickering. The link I shared shows it in real time. It seems the problem pops up occasionally and then goes away. These shots were taken from a recording made while the screen was glitching. During those times, no other devices were connected except my wireless BT mouse. The battery was fully charged, but I’ve experienced glitches even when power was plugged in. I haven’t seen these issues on an external monitor. I checked the BIOS settings and found everything up to date, tried reinstalling drivers, but the glitches returned. I’m wondering if the RAM might be faulty, especially since my graphics card is integrated. The memtest 4/4 tests came back clean. I’m running out of ideas and feel uneasy about using the warranty—there’s a risk of long-term service. What could be causing these problems? Thanks for your help!
GPU or GPU VRAM seems nearing failure. Have you filed a report with Lenovo support? They typically offer solid warranties and assistance. When this occurs, have you checked if tilting the monitor helps? On laptops, screen issues often stem from the display or its cable breaking after use. Replacing the cable is usually cheaper than swapping out the entire monitor, especially if the unit isn’t permanently attached.
