Check for missing files in the Desktop folder.
Searching MSSI is necessary because these files are crucial. It's essential to look through the desktop folder during the search. The process covered the entire PC.
I saved the insider ISO pack from UUPDump named "26090.112_amd64_en-us_professional_416c894e_convert". After extracting it from the ZIP and launching the task, the expected files appeared, which shouldn't have shown up before. Odd OS/Explorer behavior with misleading search results. After completing the conversion to ISO and removing that directory, the desktop search for "MSI" stopped returning non-existent items. Still strange, but it worked eventually. However, the desktop icons remain misaligned after a reboot.
I decided to go with DesktopOK because it feels familiar for grid or placement tasks. Changing the layout after each restart would be quite challenging.
Select the right-click menu, choose View, then verify the auto-arrange icons and position icons within the grid.
The symbols are simply positioned within the grid layout, no automatic sorting involved. It's odd that the icon arrangement issue emerged without any changes to the registry or installation of new programs.
