Settings adjusted to high, ray tracing disabled, 1440p with DLSS enabled. Performance stays above 60fps except during rapid driving and texture updates. FPS drops to around 50 when turning sharply. After a short pause, stability returns. This might point to storage issues rather than GPU or CPU problems—checking NVME M.2 SSD compatibility could help.
From a logical standpoint, loading assets will always be slower when textures aren't already in RAM. A faster SSD could help improve performance, but the actual benefit depends on the extent of the improvement. Another issue is finding ways to avoid loading new textures or ensuring texture loading keeps up with your movement in the game. These are complex questions and I don’t have a definitive answer.
It offers more than just the basics. The update raised the minimum requirements and now demands an SSD, meaning you might have to adjust your settings or invest in better hardware.

If problems are limited to texture loading, then an NVME drive makes sense as an upgrade. Given that the slowest NVME drives (~1500MB/s) are at least three times faster than the quickest SATA drives (550MB/s), mid-range options range from 3000-4000MB/s and high-end PCIe 4.0 models approach 8000MB/s. You’ll notice a big speed improvement. It’s likely you can find a mid-range NVME for around $50 to $75 right now. I’d go ahead and install your games on it.
