The CPU, motherboard, and heatsink are all parts I already own and can't change. This computer is mainly used for 1080p gaming, which matches the current monitor resolution.

The platform could restrict performance for the RTX3060Ti, but with 1080p gaming it should still work well. The discussion was shifted from the Components section to the Systems section.

The cpu/motherboard and ram combination refers to this setup. For instance, a cpu from 5-6 years ago would be outdated, so consider amd socket am5 and ddr5 parts, or intels 12th generation or newer compatible boards, preferably with ddr5 as well.

Would a 4060 Ti struggle excessively at 3060 Ti? I've checked the listings and it looks like selling 3060 Ti is tough.

The 4060 ti consumes less energy, runs roughly 5% quicker, includes the frame generation capability, and should stay cooler even though that isn't a huge concern since the 3060 ti was quite impressive in performance.
