Hello. Your new PC setup is fresh, but you're facing issues with explorer.exe—slow loading and a long shutdown. You suspect it's related to the CPU, motherboard, or RAM. Have others experienced similar problems? Any advice would be helpful.

Review your components as this might relate to multiple issues. Consider using pcpartpicker for details.

I question if the motherboard is involved unless you suspect physical harm. First, I'd review the drivers—try applying an older version if you recently got an update. If that doesn't help, I'd examine the RAM, SSD, and CPU. Run the BIOS to see if both RAM modules are detected correctly and check their speeds. For the CPU, download CrystaldiskInfo to assess storage health. SSDs typically have a limited lifespan, so this could be the issue for me when facing similar problems.

I’m not sure the SSD is the issue since I also ran Windows on an HDD and faced the same problem. I’ll keep using crystaldiskinfo. Regarding the motherboard, it seems there’s no visible damage. It must be related to the CPU or RAM.
