Check disk utilization in System Task Manager.
When the secondary HDD that holds just games becomes silent, the system begins trying to restart it at a very slow pace of just 0.1MB/s—what’s going on and how to fix it? It’s not a defragmentation issue.
In Task Manager, select Open Resource Monitor, then go to the Disk section. This displays active file accesses and read/write statistics. You may see a game launcher or a process monitoring system.
Another option is to press the Windows button and enter 'Resource Monitor' to locate it as well. There, you'll find a tab called 'Disk' that displays real-time activity of applications and shows which drives they're using. You can view processes and identify the specific drive involved by clicking the 'File' tab. This helps you easily see what's happening with the HDD I/O operations.
