Check device compatibility with RAM.
Hi everyone, I'm planning to upgrade my RAM from 16GB to 32GB. I checked the QVL for my motherboard (ASUS TUF Gaming B550M-Plus) to find the right sticks. I want 3600 MHz modules, since my Ryzen 5 3600 benefits from faster speeds. I'm aiming for manufacturer recommendations. I'm wondering how strict the QVL is. The exact models I'm considering have codes like CMW32GX4M2Z3600C18, but those aren't listed. The lower-speed option CMW32GX4M2Z3200C16 is available, but I'm concerned it might not work well. There aren't many 32GB options in the QVL, so I hope compatibility isn't too limited. Thanks!
It’s unclear exactly what you need, but as long as your components have consistent speed and latency, it should function. It’s ideal if all are from the same brand. Generally, any well-known DDR4 3600 RAM will work perfectly.
Sorry, it wasn't very clear. You meant to ask if using non-standard sticks would cause any issues with your motherboard?
