I'm setting up a Plex server for my household and friends, and I'm planning to share it with them. I've chosen an Intel Xeon E5-2650v4 processor. I ordered a Lenovo 03T6784 motherboard from eBay and want to confirm it's compatible before purchasing the CPU. It has the correct socket (LGA 2011-3), but a manual I found online mentions compatibility with the Xeon E5-2600 v3 lineup. Since that model was released earlier, the manual likely didn't include this information. I'm trying to be cautious and want to ensure I get the right chip.

It would be a risk. Because the board doesn’t come with the v4 series by default, you’ll need to hope it got or has a BIOS update that includes v4 support. If you haven’t purchased the CPU yet, stick with v3 or be ready for a POST failure.
