I'm currently using NordVPN. These tech support people should be replaced with ChatGPT or Google's Bard. In fact, I'm sure Siri would be more helpful than these bone-heads. I've run into an issue where after uninstalling and then reinstalling NordVPN speeds are horrible/bottle necked. I'm using NordVPN primarily on an older Win7 laptop which never had this issue before with NordVPN. There were no speed issues previously, say about 6 months ago. When I connect via Ethernet there are no speed issues, when I connect to the onboard Wi-Fi nic, there are serious issues. When I connect via a USB Network adapter (much faster) the same issue occurs. Without the VPN connected and I use the USB Nic, speeds are normal. But it seems when I connect to Nord VPN, Nord's speeds are capped to what my onboard nic's speeds. To ensure Nord VPN is in fact still compatible with my nic, I installed the same client onto another laptop which also runs W7 home. After a not so seamless installation, uninstalling Nord, and reinstalling, everything worked as it should. Speeds with the USB nic were nominal. So it's not a USB nic issue. I've uninstalled NordVPN with Revo Uninstaller, used CCleaner to clean the registry. I uninstalled my onboard nic and USB adapter, including removing them from Windows. I haven't removed any tunnel adapters because I don't know which ones I should. I disabled and enabled IPv6. Again. the issue isn't present when connected via ethernet. So clearly there's an issue with Nord and my Wi-Fi network drivers. I tried using different DNS servers too from the default ones. No impact. I ran the following via command line using different com: ipconfig /release ipconfig /flushdns ipconfig /renew netsh winsock reset netsh interface ipv4 reset netsh interface ipv6 reset netsh interface ip delete destinationcache netsh winsock reset catalog netsh int ipv4 reset reset.log netsh int ipv6 reset reset.log And rebooted. Any suggestions how to fix?

It seems your concerns likely stem from your Wi-Fi setup rather than the VPN itself. Do these problems occur when switching between different wireless networks?

It doesn't work this way. I can switch to another VPN client and the problem disappears when USB Wi-Fi is on. It only happens with NordVPN and occurs when using RJ45. My PCI Ethernet card is very slow—only 2.4 GHz, whereas my USB card supports 5 GHz. I usually choose the USB card because it's too far from my modem/router to run a cable through the apartment; it's much faster. The built-in Wi-Fi is not useful, so I disable it. This seems like an OEM problem; even after uninstalling, it reinstalls itself at startup (even if I delete the driver). I want to stress that with USB and another VPN, everything runs smoothly, just like with RJ45 and NordVPN. Only on Wi-Fi does it behave badly, as if NordVPN is still using my native Wi-Fi card even though it's turned off. That's the level of poor performance I'm experiencing.

VPNs tend to be more affected by packet loss and ordering problems, making them more prone to failure over WiFi. Have you experimented with running the VPN in TCP mode?
