Are you sure? Opening the box seems to prevent returns. That doesn’t make sense—warranty usually ends when you damage it or remove the label. I think most XMP RAMs don’t come with an EXPO profile, unless they’re rare variants.
Many kits designed for XMP support also work with AMD processors. Performance may differ compared to custom timing settings, mainly due to sub-timing variations.
Include secondary clock speeds as well. It really varies by the motherboard. Since I'm unfamiliar with DDR5, there might be some differences. I'd just match the primary settings found on the label—like 36-40-40-40-98—and keep the rest automatic, except for DRAM voltage and frequency which need manual adjustment. Let the motherboard handle the remaining timing details.
I have XMP RAM installed on my AM5 Gigabyte MB with an XMP button for activation. I'm unsure if the label would change to EXPO if I switched to EXPO RAM, so those terms might not be interchangeable. My RAM was originally in QVL. Just install it and check.
It seems the situation is just the company's policy where I purchased it.
