Check compatibility for your CPU models with Hackintosh installation.
I’m preparing to set up a home studio for recording and video editing. I’m torn between choosing a standard Intel 9th gen processor like K or the non-K line, or opting for a more affordable option such as an Intel i5-9600KF or i5 9400F. My main worry is that after installing Mac OS, I might encounter issues where drivers for my graphics card aren’t installed first, making it hard to see anything. Could anyone offer advice or tips to help resolve this problem?
The idea that creating a hackintosh was nearly impossible reflects outdated beliefs. Most parts needed to be components Apple had previously produced. Using new CPUs greatly increased the risk of breaking Apple’s support, making it very hard to succeed. Many builders relied on “recipie” builds—copying existing functional machines instead of starting from scratch.
Fascinating video content. It functions, though without an iGPU certain features don't work properly. It seems the main issue is the absence of quicksynch, which could impact video editing.
Hi Daniel.thang, I've assembled quite a few Hackintosh systems, both Intel and AMD based. Generally, if it's an Intel chipset Apple supports, you're all set with minimal adjustments (AMD needs a custom kernel). Two helpful resources are InsanelyMac: https://www.insanelymac.com/ and OSXLatitude: https://osxlatitude.com/. There will be some fine-tuning required for smooth operation, but the final setup will be robust and much more affordable than buying a real Mac. I currently run a couple of machines with OS X, including my Latitude E7270, which fits a 13.3" LCD into a laptop meant for 12.5". Let me know if you need further help—I'll do my best to assist.
