Check if your Dell workstation supports DDR3 1600MHz RAM. It should work with validated memory from OEMs. A CAS latency of 11 affects dual-channel performance—using a 16 CAS stick would require matching CAS or it won’t function properly. You can use both DDR3 and DDR3L sticks in dual-channel, but ensure they have compatible timings.

CAS latency shouldn't impact dual channel performance; it should function properly as long as both channels operate at the same frequency. It's best to select a cable matching your existing ones if possible. Any standard cable should suffice, provided it's compatible with your setup. If you already have DDR3L installed, use that. DDR3 may not work in a DDR3L system, but DDR3L is compatible with DDR3 systems.
