The configuration I have includes an R5 3400G with 16 gigabytes of RAM in a single channel setup, using a B450M Mobo. The default clock speed is 2666 MHz. I wanted to check if increasing it to 3200 MHz would be safe and effective.

Activate XMP worst case, it may become unstable or refuse to start. If it doesn’t boot via XMP, perform a CMOS reset instead.

Not only secure, but highly advised. Ryzen thrives with quick RAM. The same applies to built-in GPUs, such as the one in your 3400G. Note: Oh lord I just noticed you're using single channel. That's not ideal. Switching to dual channel right away would be best. Performance drops significantly without it.

Yes, dual channel works better, but for now you can use single channel with XMPP is acceptable.

I had been using X.M.P for about a year without any issues, until recently it wouldn't start. The computer had a lot of dust buildup due to living in a tropical area. After cleaning the system, resetting the CMOS, and swapping the RAM slot from 2 to 4, it worked again. I'm not sure if the problem was caused by X.M.P or just the wet sticky dust.

It seems the particles might be an issue. Keep the system tidy by cleaning it often to prevent parts from deteriorating.

Absolutely, I'll do it. I wasn't aware of how severe the dust can become in tropical regions.
