I'm working on an HP Z8 G4 Workstation equipped with two Xeon 5122 processors. The specs for compatible CPUs don't fully list this generation's Xeons. I'm thinking about swapping them for two Xeon 8173M units, but it's tricky to confirm if that model is actually supported by the manufacturer. I've reached out to HP technical support, but they're not responding well. Could be they haven't included this CPU in their latest updates. It might also depend on whether a more advanced Xeon 8180 is available.

Everything centers around launch schedules and whether HP BIOS interferes with other CPUs. Before, HP would simply skip the same compatibility issues, but now they're being much more precise.
