I recently got a new power color RX 7800 XT and am experiencing high hotspot temperatures. I’m considering water cooling and noticed EK had blocks for the RX7900XT/RX7800XT models. Do any of those blocks fit your RX7800XT? Thanks for your help—I know dyslexia can be tricky!

Well, what are we discussing? These cards usually have a high hotspot temperature. For example, my hotspot on a 4080 stays in the 80s, just like with a 4070. Some hotspots can reach up to 110°C, though this isn't great or visually appealing. Still, it's considered acceptable by the manufacturers. Running water cooling on a 7800XT isn't cost-effective—it'll be exhausting and could void your warranty. If you're not happy with the card, just bring it back and invest in something else instead of wasting money on water cooling and losing your warranty. (Not all brands treat water cooling as a warranty violation.)

I've worked with seven custom loop rigs and really enjoy watercooling. Jon would probably say the same thing about midrange GPUs—don't waste money on a custom loop for something like the 7800 XT. Spending hundreds on cooling could mean trading in your card for a better model with a stock cooler, or just letting it run hot. It's built to handle it, so you should be okay.
