I recently assembled a new custom loop PC and have been using it for about a month, mainly on weekends for gaming titles like LOL, Valve, and Albion Online. So far, I haven’t encountered triple-A games. Recently, my monitor would randomly go black while playing Albion Online. It tends to lag around 10-20 FPS when running at low settings in a 1920x1080 display. At times the GPU reaches full load and it works fine, but most of the time the screen goes dark while I can still hear in-game sounds and control music through my headset. I’ve also tried MSI Afterburner, but the results were poor—at 1280x720 on GL version, I averaged 10-20 FPS with pings between 300-900. It would black out eventually, but my PC stays operational. Here are the specs of my build: R7 5800X, RTX 3080 SG OC (used for a year), Gigabyte B550 Vision 32GD DDR4 3600MHz RAM, 500GB Kingston M.2 NVME 1TB, WD Black M.2 NVME 2TB Seagate Baracuda 18W D5 Barrow Pump, plus a 750W Corsair RM PSU (used for a year) and several fans. I’ve tried updating drivers, reinstalling them, checking BIOS, ensuring my GPU wasn’t daisy-chained, setting power to high, plugging the PSU directly into a wall outlet, but nothing resolved the issue.
rm750 units are recognized for causing OCP issues with a 3080, meaning they function as expected. For optimal performance, consider using the 850W model or connect all power inputs to the 3080 via separate cables.
The problem isn't related to the PSU; it worked with a 1000W RMe power supply. The issue seems to be with the GPU temperature limits. Check if you can raise the temperature threshold or adjust settings accordingly. Also, the software crashes right after launching Kombuster.
