Checking for faults on my PC which doesn't support DDR4 is proving difficult. I'm looking for the most affordable options available on eBay that can handle full XMP overclocking for RAM testing. I need a board and CPU that are budget-friendly, as long as they can back the 4000Mhz XMP profile. The age of the components doesn't matter as long as they match the RAM's speed requirements. I plan to use Memtest86 for testing and will discard everything afterward.

There are Intel CPUs compatible with Z chipset boards, such as the Intel Core i5 and i7 models designed for specific motherboard configurations.

I found a couple of Z97 boards but they're DDR3. I was trying to locate them by CPU and had limited success; it looks like searching for compatible motherboards might be the next step. Edit: X99 LGA 2011 appears to be a solid option.

Similar to Z170, Z270 and Z370 models. Avoid X chipset options as they're too costly.

It seems the optimal approach is to filter by socket type. LGA 2011 offers better value on eBay. Appreciate the suggestion :0)
