Hi Guys, I was just browsing mindfactory (a german hardware seller) and saw, that the 3800x was retailing for 289€ and the 3700x for 299€. Is there any reason to buy the 3700x, if it is more expensive than the 3800x? Both chips are new, of course.

Choose the 3800x option when needed. While it might seem better for gaming, a 5600x could offer similar value if you're mainly playing games.

The 5600x costs roughly 80 euros more and isn't compatible with my motherboard (x370). I'm not even sure, I'm thinking about an upgrade. I just noticed the price and wondered why it's lower than the 3700x.

The 3800x is merely a refined version of the 3700x with improved binning, offering no significant differences. It can handle higher clocks and provides a larger TDP—around 105 watts versus 65 watts on the 3700x. In short, the 3800x is just a marginally better alternative to the 3700x. P.S. I've noticed this price variation in Greece too; it likely relates to component availability.
