Hello everyone! I’m reaching out for your assistance with my PC setup. I’ve been looking online for tips on how to configure the chassis and CPU fans to keep things quiet. The issue is that the fans aren’t operating smoothly, and when the CPU hits a certain temperature it speeds up dramatically, making everything noisy. I found no clear solutions yet. Right now, during gaming sessions, the fans become extremely loud and the system behaves erratically. I want a quieter setup overall, but right now it’s quite disruptive.

My components include: motherboard ASUS TUF Z370 PLUS GAMING II, i5-9600K processor, RTX 3060 with 16GB DDR4 at 2666MHz, Zalman Z9 Neo Black chassis, and two Noctua fans. I assembled the system together with a friend who’s more tech-savvy, but we haven’t communicated much lately. I’m considering overclocking to improve performance, so I’d appreciate any advice you can offer.

Thank you in advance for your help!

CPU fan speed is controllable. If your motherboard supports it, you can also tweak case fan speeds, even for 3-pin models. Connect them to the motherboard headers rather than plugging them straight into the PSU via Molex. The motherboard can adjust fan voltages according to CPU temperature.

Located a component called "QFan Control" in your BIOS, but it restricts adjustments and sets a limit you can't surpass.
