The specifications indicate two memory channels, but it doesn't necessarily mean the CPU performs optimally only with two RAM sticks. It simply means the chip is designed to handle two memory paths. Performance depends on other factors like RAM speed and configuration.
Typically, each channel uses two sticks. A quad channel setup is exclusive to premium (HEDT) devices, while most common platforms offer no more than two memory channels (excluding the dual 32-bit channels found on DDR5 sticks)
Each channel manages two sticks, allowing a total of four. Using two sticks reduces strain on the memory controller, making it slightly smoother, while four sticks ensures a solid dual rank boost, boosting RAM performance by about 200 MHz.
