You can transfer only the operating system files without moving the entire OS installation. Use tools like GParted or DiskPart to partition and move just the OS partition to the SSD M.2 drive. This way, you keep your data on the old drive while relocating the OS.

Avoid copying the entire drive unless necessary; otherwise, you can easily delete unwanted files later
