Hey there, I’m facing some issues with my computer right now. One suggestion I’ve heard is adjusting the voltage settings for my RAM. The part number looks like F4 -4000C18D-32GTR S. Since I’m not very familiar with this stuff, any advice on a safe voltage change would be really helpful. On their site they mention 1.4v, but for testing stability you might consider something like 1.43v. With such fast memory, you might need to increase the voltage beyond just the memory level to reach stability. Depending on your CPU and motherboard, 4000 could be too high. The default speed is 2133 at 1.2v, which should remain stable under normal conditions. If it isn’t stable, run memtest to check if the issue is with the memory itself and consider returning it.
Memtest has been executed several times and shows no errors, suggesting the memory is likely intact. I’ll test at 1.4-1.43v to check for improvements. Running at the default speed without adjusting BIOS settings (around 1.2v) still causes instability. My concerns are focused on the motherboard, RAM, and storage components. There's a small chance of incompatibility with specific memory, but most likely if you are having issues at 2133 @ 1.2v and memtest is clear, then it is not the problem.
Rma rams even if not faulty, just return it because xmp isn't working and you're paying for it. It's really annoying to pay for something that won't function properly and still needs manual adjustments. You should only refuse a return if it's a Samsung Bdie model, which I strongly doubt based on the primary specs (18-22-22). Otherwise, you can check with the thaiphoon burner. For plug-and-play options, consider 3200c16 or 3600c18 (the latter isn't a genuine refurbished unit and offers little benefit). If you need top speed and performance, go for the HMA82gu6djr8n in the 2666-3200 range—probably what 13th and 14th gen can handle. Dual rank HBM8Gb supports 8GB memory, which should boost performance compared to single-rank sticks or 32GB units. You can find these on both new and used markets, but if not available, look for a 3200c14 Bdie kit on the used side. You can't really have both high performance and plug-and-play features with rams—this is just how they work.
