Changing to Windows 11 on another drive
Changing to Windows 11 on another drive
Hello,
I can upgrade to Windows 11 via the update menu in Windows 10, but I don’t have the chance to pick a specific drive. If that’s not possible, what steps should I take? I need it on another drive so I can test it without risking the current operating system.
This upgrade isn't supported. To proceed, an operating system must already be installed on the alternative drive.
You can set up Windows 11 without a license. Simply download the installer from Microsoft and complete the steps for creating a USB version. Upgrading is essentially changing to an existing setup, which prevents reinstalling software that might be present.
