Hello, I’m completely unsure about the correct approach. If I install an OS on my SSD, what should I do with the HDD? I plan to keep it for backup purposes. Regarding the operating system, should I remove Windows 10 from the HDD? I was wondering if running another OS from the main drive would impact performance. I’m not sure, so I’d probably delete the OS entirely. That way I won’t lose my files, and backing up is essential. I might also need to reorganize my files. Another concern is whether moving my programs and games to one drive would ruin their settings or cause issues—like with Steam games.

As for what happened with the HDD I installed in my room: I thought it would be useful for storage, but it already had an OS running. I deleted everything from the drive, including system files, and now it’s just used as storage. That seems fine to me. Thank you!

There will be no effect on performance. All data should remain intact as files and folders. Windows won’t load anything from the HDD unless you explicitly tell it. Reinstalling the program is probably necessary for it to function correctly. Copying files likely won’t help. Steam games should work if you add the Steam apps folder on your HDD to your Steam library (Steam > Settings > Downloads > Steam Library). Consider formatting the drive to clear everything.
