Changing the GPU caused the game to crash.
It worked once more...the game keeps freezing after roughly twenty minutes.
It seems odd here. Are you trying to push the card beyond its limits? From what I've seen, GTA tends to be strict about GPU overclocks, so this might not be a problem for you. But honestly, I’m unsure what might be causing it. I’m really sorry—I can’t help much anymore.
Also, I'm running Fallout 4 on Ultra without any issues, just like with New Vegas and Company of Heroes, Mad Max—freezing and crashing only appear in GTA V.
It might be your RAM issue. I’d test it at around 1600 or 1866mhz, matching your motherboard’s supported speed. I haven’t tried running GTA lately, but a recent update could be the cause. Check the Rockstar forums to see if others faced the same problem after an update. There have been three releases in the last two weeks, so it’s possible the developers are responsible. P.S. I don’t understand why this is being written so small on my laptop—maybe it’s just a normal size for you.
