I own an Asus Zenith Extreme paired with a 2950X. While I'm enjoying solid performance, I'm aiming to push this build to its limits before thinking about upgrades. Right now I've undervolted the CPU by about 0.12v and can sustain around 4.1ghz across all cores. For a 64GB RAM setup, the suggested maximum speed is roughly 3200MT/s. The second-generation Threadripper model won't reach close to 3600MT/s with 16GB modules. On the ASUS site, the QVL lists your motherboard as supporting up to 3000MHz for 16GB, so I'm already near the upper end of my capabilities. New parts available: F4-3200C14D-32GVK and F4-3600C19D-32GVRB (timings adjusted to CL16 at 3333). My plan is to either overclock the new chips to around CL14 with a stable 3333MHz, or stick with the current specs and enjoy the gains. Expecting a 5-7% boost in heavy computing tasks.
