Hello! I reached my limit and came here seeking assistance. I recently chose to switch to Windows 11, and everything worked until I tried Valorant. I encountered an error that could be resolved by turning off CSM in BIOS and setting SecurWear Boot to Standard. After making those changes, my computer stopped responding. Now I’m left with a black screen, and I notice the only fan is on, while the GPU fans increase and then decrease periodically. I’ve tried cleaning RAM sticks, removing the battery, and even reseating the GPU, but nothing seems to help. I’m hoping someone can suggest a solution or recommend taking it to a technician for a proper diagnosis.

The specific pins were not mentioned, but I can help clarify. Did you short any particular pins? Were the power supply unit disconnected from the wall during battery removal? For reference, I can provide detailed specifications of your PC if you share them.

Reset the CMOS and that should resolve the problem. Check your motherboard manual for proper steps since each board differs. The challenge is that CSM can't simply be turned off. When enabled, it forces UEFI to mimic an outdated BIOS setup for older hardware. Also note that BIOS only works with MBR-formatted drives, while UEFI needs GPT formatted ones. The drive must either be freshly wiped and restarted (backup your data first) or converted just before switching (backup again—failure will erase all data). Microsoft provides a tool called mbr2gpt.exe in Windows, and there are several guides on this topic in the forum.
