Changed to NZXT H1, no video with riser (even with the new one from NZXT)
I recently acquired a used NZXT H1 V1 (650W) and decided to move my current Ryzen PC into it because of the support for longer graphics cards than my Silversone SG13. The case arrived, and I migrated everything into the new case with the GPU on the riser. After turning it on, there was no video output. The fans started up quickly, indicating it’s booting. I then unmounted the motherboard to run the GPU directly from the board, and everything worked perfectly. I reached out to NZXT, suspecting a faulty riser, and they sent a replacement. Now I’ve installed the new riser, but the issue continues. The PC still sounds like it boots, and both the motherboard and GPU are PCIe 3.0. Any advice? Specifications: Ryzen 3 3300X, Gigabyte B450I Aorus Pro WiFi, 16GB GSKill, 3600MHz RAM. Sapphire R9 Nano. Updated notes: Tested GPU on another machine—video appears correctly. Using the old riser on another system also worked, and connecting directly to the secondary PC via the H1 power supply produced video. Power from the NZXT H1 seems functional.
You should have purchased the V2. I remember there was a recall on the H1 V1 because of an issue with the riser cable (screws). Suggest returning and receiving the V2. I’d advise sending back that case and getting either the V2 or something else entirely.
As long as they delivered the second version of the riser cable with new screws, it should work. If they sent another version 1 riser cable (which seems risky due to fire concerns), you’ll likely face the same problem. https://support.nzxt.com/hc/en-us/articl...in-H1-Case Edited October 20, 2022 by GeorgeMKane
