the inspiron 7773 is still having issues with a failing KB, so we changed the keyboard and now bitlocker is requesting the key. of course, no one understands what's happening. if i restore the original keyboard back onto the old palmtop, will it start normally again? this would let me disable bitlocker or locate the key. i'm concerned that once it's triggered, it won't reset itself without those 48 digits. thanks!

When reassembled properly, you can store the BL key on a flash drive and/or in a Microsoft account.

With an MS account on your computer's operating system, the Bitlocker key is stored there. Simply sign in with the MS account from another device, find the computer in the account details, and retrieve or download the BL key.
