You looked up information multiple times, but it still isn't clear what you're asking. Could you provide more details about your question?

What ISP are we talking about? Usually they provide a device that changes fiber to Ethernet, often including a built-in router and AP. Which standard does your ISP follow? Have you reached out to their support team?

I actually had a router that handled everything, but it stopped working recently, so I bought a new one, but it doesn’t support a fiber connection.

Reach out to your internet service provider; they should be able to provide the information about the box at Electronics Wizardy or arrange for a technician to set it up.

Sure, I understand you’d prefer to handle this on your own. Let me see if there’s a way to resolve it without involving them.

This appears to be a local service provider rather than a national ISP. It seems they handle the fiber-to-the-home conversion and manage the equipment directly, not relying on an over-the-top network operator.

I'm based in India, and I'm a subcontractor for 5Net.

The method depends heavily on obtaining the fiber. Many providers need a complete ONT setup. My provider only installs a GPON into their device, which I then convert using a basic media adapter.

Located in Ontario, Canada, Bell Fiber was eliminated by me after the GPON installation.

Even if you choose not to use an ISP router, you should still contact them to check compatibility. It’s better to avoid wasting money than discovering it’s not working when you need it.
