Hello, welcome! Your new SSD is ready for use as your boot drive. Since you're looking for Windows files, start by checking your installation media or system settings. If you need guidance, follow general steps: restart your PC, press the appropriate key during boot (often F12, Esc, or Del), and select the boot option to choose Windows. Let me know if you need more details!

I don't have any options. My friend has a bootable SSD, so I should be able to transfer it somehow.

Use Macrium Reflect to duplicate your HDD onto an SDD. This guide can assist if you encounter difficulties. https://lifehacker.com/how-to-migrate-to...ll-5837543

Your SSD capacity is 480GB, not 1TB. You don’t need to purchase Windows again if you’re upgrading to a smaller drive.

You can build a recovery disk using a thumb drive. This approach is new to me, so I’m unsure about its effectiveness, but it’s worth trying. The relevant discussion is on the Windows forum page: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/wind...ac34abc6c5
