In the old paint menu you merely picked the pencil and adjusted the line thickness. Currently the line thickness options are limited, and you can't select a freeform shape. Therefore, what method should I use to modify line thickness for a freeform line?

Tap the Brush icon and modify the line's width using the vertical slider on the left. The same applies to the Pencil, except when selecting a shape.

Huh? I can still adjust the line thickness for the pencil tool easily. What bothers me is that the available line sizes for other tools are now restricted to odd numbers of pixels only on Windows 10. Previously, it was possible to choose 2 or 4 (or even 6?) pixels for straight lines and rectangles. I often rely on Paint and sometimes have to select just those missing sizes.
