Challenges with initial setup
Challenges with initial setup
Hello! This is my debut here. I just purchased the components for my first gaming PC. Here are the details:
- SUS ROG STRIX B450 motherboard
- Ryzen 5 3600X CPU
- Corsair Vengeance 16 Go (2x8 Go) DDR4 3200 MHz C16 XMP RAM
- VGA GIGABYTE RTX 2070 WF2 8G GPU
- 970 EVO Plus NVMe M.2 (1 To) SSD
- Enermax MaxPro II 700W 80 Plus power supply
The system runs smoothly and Windows installs without issues. But overall performance is inconsistent. Games and applications often crash unexpectedly. When using Chrome, links may trigger a STATUS_ACCESS_VIOLATION error. In extreme cases, the PC displays a BSoD during startup or in the lock screen (typically PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA or IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL).
I've tried reinstalling Windows, updating drivers, running Memtest86, updating BIOS, and adjusting XMP profiles. Still no improvement. I’m starting to suspect a compatibility problem or faulty hardware. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
The issues arose prior to the BIOS update. I'm uncertain if it will resolve them.
Reduce the memory frequency setting from 3200 to 3000 while keeping XMP enabled
