CCleaner 5.91 caused many programs to disappear when removed from the control panel. During uninstallation, some Adobe, MSI, Steam, and Origin files vanished, but others remained partially installed. The software itself was installed in a location that made it hard to launch. Some files took up significant space on my SSD, and Windows couldn't detect them properly. After fixing the BIOS and running a full antivirus scan, everything appeared clean. It seems CCleaner might have left traces, but it’s unclear if any backdoors remain.

Yes, I've checked running it with administrator privileges.

Windirstat is configured as admin by default. The SSD was cleared and that resolved the problem. Regarding other suggestions, feel free to ask.

CC cleaner works adequately; it isn’t a major malware threat. However, when you add something to a different directory than the default, double-check that it’s placed in D:/Applications/%app_name%. Most programs install automatically into the default spot, but altering the path can lead to problems like this. I’ve faced a similar situation before, but I spotted the issue by ensuring the %app_name% wasn’t omitted before clicking install, which fixed it.

The app was downloaded from D:/Applications/CCleaner, but it appears to have an issue with the uninstaller, as noted by several users on the CCleaner forum.
